On 8th August 2025, IMHO USA, in collaboration with the Department of Community Medicine – University of Jaffna and Teaching Hospital Jaffna, organized a free medical camp at the Myliddy Primary Medical Care Unit. The event was coordinated by Mr. Mahenthiran Thushanthan, Project Coordinator, IMHO. A dedicated multidisciplinary team took part, including the MOH Tellipalai, PMCU Mayiliddy, IMPACT (Interdisciplinary Multifaceted Professionals for Active Community Transformation), Medical Students’ Union, RDHS Jaffna, CMAT, Family Health Center of the Department of Community and Family Medicine, and the Early Cancer Detection Center, Teaching Hospital Jaffna, and also by Prof. Kumaran (Consultant Family Physician), Dr. B. Balagobi (Consultant Urological Surgeon), Dr. S. Raguraman (Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecology), Dr. Thanenthiran (Consultant Surgical Oncologist), Dr. Sritharan (Consultant Surgical Oncologist), Dr. R. Dhavanthihan (Registrar in Family Medicine), Dr. S. M. A. M. Sethunge (Senior Registrar in Family Medicine).The camp offered health screenings, consultations, treatments, and referrals, benefiting 70 community members. This initiative is a strong example of volunteerism and demonstrates how impactful healthcare programs can be delivered even with limited human and material resources.
