Enhancing STEM Education in Paddiruppu Zone – Eastern Province, Sri Lanka, July 2025. A transformative educational initiative is underway in the Paddiruppu Zone of Sri Lanka’s Eastern Province, addressing the shortage of Mathematics and Science teachers in several schools. The program provides targeted instruction for students in Grades 10 and 11, and is now being expanded to include students from Grades 6 to 9 — reaching a total of 828 students. Interactive Smart Boards are being used to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons. These Smart Boards were generously donated by Ms. Dharshana Siva, in loving memory of her parents, Drs. Brahman and Vijayalakshmi Sivaprakasapillai. Teacher training and implementation were carried out by the Ratnam Foundation (UK), ensuring the effective use of technology in the classroom to support and uplift students in underserved communities.
