Parankiyamadu Village in Kiran DS Division, Batticaloa District. It was a fishing village with 155 families needing total support. IMHO USA funded for 23 houses, 2 boats and repair of 43 toilets and the project was implemented by Assist RR. One donor family donated towards 17 houses. The houses were handed over to the beneficiaries on 16th of April 2021.
As a result of an initiative by the staff of the Dept. of Surgery (Faculty of Medicine) a full cystoscope set with accessories was obtained thanks to a generous donation by IMHO USA and handed over to the Directorof Jaffna Teaching Hospital. This equipment will be available in Casualty OT and thus enable the urologists to carry out certain emergency urology procedures. In the photo is Dr.Satheesan and Krishnakumar (IMHO representative) handing over the equipment worth just over a million rupees. Thanks are due yet again to IMHO USA for their continued support for patient care at this hospital.
An IMHO USA project at a cost of $5500 funded entirely by Dr. and Mrs. Murugaiah of Boston, Mass, providing water supply to two schools in Annandale and Dunkeld, Maskeliya. Last year several students from these schools did extremely well in the 5th grade scholarship examination.
