Nutrition Project for Malnourished Mothers -2016

Malnutrition has been identified as a major health concern for poor pregnant mothers and new born babies and requires immediate redress. The ongoing nutrition project which began in Jaffna will be implemented in the Northern Province. Currently, a similar project is being implemented in the Eastern District by IMHO Canada. Under this project, supplementary nutritional food packets, locally termed “Jeevaposha” prepared using the locally formulated food portions including rice, black gram, green gram, sesame seeds, and peanuts and packed commercially will be provided to the pregnant mothers with BMI

The total cost of providing supplementary food per mother is about $65. (8 months during pregnancy and 6 months lactating time)

Goal = $ 50 000
